When do we go with our child to the psychologist?

These are some examples of behaviours that require the intervention of a psychologist:

• Difficulties in learning or attention.
• Behavioral problems: excessive rage, aggression, oppositionism.
• Difficulties with colleagues, difficulties in networking.
• Episodes of sadness, irritability or crying without a real reason.
• Engaging in or assisting at bullying behaviors.
• Headache, stomachache or abnormal states, in the absence of medical reasons.
• Signs of alcohol, drugs or other illegal substances.
• Difficulties in dealing with transition periods: divorce, separation or relocation.
• Involvement in or assisting at a traumatic event, sexual abuse, physical or emotional abuse.
• Signs of self-destructive behaviors: head hitting.
• Repeated thoughts about death or attempted suicide.
• Loss of someone who has committed suicide.
• Difficulties in emotional regulation.
• Changes in appetite or sleep.
• Withdrawal or social isolation.
• Fear behaviour.
• Obsessions or compulsions.
